A Trip to Nepal

Notes:

  • I took the photograph of the girl in what could have been 2003. I was in Nepal with my father and we visited a school in the mountains. The reason for our visit eludes me now. Maybe we were visiting a sponsored school or delivering school supplies. The school was in a valley surrounded by mountainous terrain - like a flange of a sink, at the bottom of a green bowl. It was the morning roll call and students in their uniforms of white shirts and khaki trousers and skirts stood in line in the front yard, which was really a dirt flat. Some of the children had walked two hours to the school.
