A Trip to Cuba

Notes:

• What you observe in Havana are ruins of promise.

• One of our guides had recently purchased his first mobile phone and was spending hard earned money on internet access. People congretated in public parks where mobile towers were situated. “We are good people. We deserve the internet.”

• Three out of four of our guides were Millennials who were trying to resolve their feelings of wanting to join the rest of the world in development.

• We had mistakenly entered a coffee shop where nothing on the menu was available.
